fun, food, live entertainment, rides and attractions for the
family and so much more, when Akron’s Fourth of July Festival
comes to Main Street (between Bowery and State Streets) in downtown
Akron
and to Lock 3

Free Thursday until 5 p.m. and following the Fireworks on the Innerbelt on Friday

will be plenty of GREAT Food including:
Local Restaurants:
Greystone, Lime Spider, Serpico’s, Crave at Northside,
LeFevers Grille and Meekers Steak House. The
best rib vendors from past years including Arnolds Ribs and
Tony Roma’s.
All your favorite
festival food will be available including sausage and chicken
sandwiches, pizza, elephant ears, original Kettle Korn, ice
cream, Hawaiian shaved ice, popcorn, cotton candy, nuts, caramel
corn and much more! You’ll
also be able to enjoy lemonade, soda, wine and beer.

Brandishing heavy guitars and an unabashed fetish for British Invasion Pop, The
Smitherereens carved their niche on album rock radio and earned a reputation
as a great concert attraction with sizzling pop songs including “A Girl
Like You” and “Only A Memory.” |

Zapp Band, 4 p.m., &
Midnight Star, 6 p.m.
Friday, July 4
The Zapp Band has recorded 14 chart-topping albums, featuring songs like “More
Bounce to the Ounce,” “Computer Love,” “I Wanna
Be Your Man” and their rendition of “I Heard It Through The
Grape Vine.” Midnight Star, a popular group in the 80's and 90's
has the dance-floor hits “ Freak-a-Zoid,” “No Parking
on the Dance Floor” and “Wet My Whistle.” |

Maniacs
Saturday, July 5, 4:30 p.m.
Named after the low-budget horror movie, 2,000 Maniacs, 10,000 Maniacs
was formed in Jamestown, NY in 1981. The group has earned four gold and
platinum albums with such hits as “These Are Days,” “Trouble
Me” and “Because The Night.” Currently the line up includes
original members John Lombardo, Steven Gustafson, Dennis Drew, Jerome Augustyniak,
along with Jeff Erickson and Ms. Oskar Saville. |
